Fiona Spargo-Mabbs.jpg

Fiona Spargo-Mabbs

Fiona Spargo-Mabbs will also be sharing some of her story during the day. Fiona and her husband Tim set up the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation, a drug education charity, in 2014 in response to the unexpected death of their younger son Dan, then sixteen having taken ecstasy with friends. They wanted to do all they could to prevent any harm happening to anyone else's child.

In addition to drug education, Fiona and Tim have been speaking in prisons since 2014, as part of Prison Fellowship's victim awareness and restorative justice course the Sycamore Tree programme. They have seen God work powerfully through this programme, bringing light and life, and changing hearts and minds.

Fiona's strong Christian faith and passionate commitment to do all she can to prevent what happened to her son happening to anyone else drives everything she does, and over the years since losing Dan she has witnessed God powerfully at work, in some of the darkest places, growing so many good things from this very bad thing.

About: The Rose conference was birthed through a prayer walk and a desire to see women develop a deeper relationship with God. In 2009, we hosted our first conference at Bewdley High School with guest speaker Mags Hallam. Since then the conference has grown and we have moved several times to bigger and bigger venues.

We now meet in the stunning Tree Tops Pavilion set amongst the beautiful setting of the West Midland Safari Park.

The Rose Conference is about breaking fresh ground and going deeper with God through prayer, praise and outstanding teaching.
